A probe station is a tool for making measurements on bare,
unpackaged integrated circuits. With it, extremely fine-tipped
probes that are connected to the measuring instrument can be
accurately and repeatably placed on the traces and pads of an IC.
The WCCML has a Cascade Microtech Summit 1200 series station
with a dedicated PC running Windows-based acquisition software,
A-Zoom binocular microscope with digital camera, two RF and four
DC probe positioners, and test environment control capability.
The probe station is located within our screen room on a Newport optical table for
stability.
