SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are available to undergraduate students enrolled in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering and range in amount from $500-$10,000 per academic year.  They are funded from a variety of sources, including private donors, corporations, and alumni.

Engineering Scholarship Requirements:

  • Admitted to Arizona State University at the time of application
  • Enrolled in an Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering academic plan
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Applications should include a well-written personal statement that outlines your academic and career goals.  Also explain how receiving a scholarship will assist you in achieving these goals. Click here for tips on completing an effective scholarship application.

You must have a current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file in the ASU Student Financial Assistance Office to be eligible for need-based scholarships. The ASU priority deadline to file your FAFSA is March 1, 2009.

 

Arizona Society of Civil Engineers (AzSCE) Scholarship - Deadline: August 21, 2009
One $2,500 scholarship for 2009-2010 is available to a current civil & environmental engineering student who is enrolled full-time in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering and is an active member of the ASU student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

 

Students are notified of scholarship award decisions in early April. Most scholarships require recipients to:

  • Attend your academic unit's Celebration of Excellence event in April.
  • Sign a scholarship agreement and provide a thank you letter and other materials required by the scholarship donor.  Awards will not be processed until all required materials are received by the scholarship coordinator. Refer to the thank you letter template for assistance in preparing the donor thank you letter.
  • Maintain enrollment in a qualified Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering academic plan throughout the scholarship period.
  • Enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters, and complete 24 credit hours by the conclusion of the spring semester.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 ASU cumulative grade point average throughout the scholarship period.
  • Maintain permanent, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
