The Barry M. Goldwater Center for Science and Engineering, located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Tyler and McAllister Malls, was built in 1992. The building is shared by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering.
The Goldwater Center contains faculty offices and classroom, research and instructional labs for the Harrington Department of Bioengineering, School of Materials, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The administrative offices for the Department of Industrial Engineering are located on the fifth floor.
The Goldwater Center is also home to several important research centers including Connection One, a National Science Foundation industry/university cooperative research center whose primary focus is communication circuits and systems that enable higher integration and smaller communication devices to facilitate system-on-a-chip.
