Academic Units Involved in ComS Research
Research in network systems, information assurance, and communication systems/networking is bolstering Internet security and reliability issues. Groundbreaking contributions are being made in low-power devices, integrated circuit designs, embedded systems, computational electromagnetics and antennas, flexible displays, mobile computing, and sensor systems—all poised to spawn the next generation of faster, more powerful, reliable and versatile fully networked computing and communication environments. Fulton School engineering faculty are involved in industry-relevant multidisciplinary projects encompassing all of these areas with several advanced research groups, facilities and centers providing the framework for student training and education.
Connection One is a National Science Foundation industry/university cooperative research center whose primary focus is communication circuits and systems. The center is enabling higher integration and smaller-scale communication devices to facilitate system-on-a-chip design.
The Consortium for Embedded Systems is a partnership of universities and technology enterprises working together to build knowledge and expertise in embedded systems.
Industry and university researchers at the Wireless Integrated Nanotechnology (WINtech) center work on enabling technologies for the development of fully autonomous nanoscale communication devices and systems.
The Flexible Display Center at Arizona State University, launched with U. S. Army funds, is a world-class strategic partnership of over 25 industry and government entities dedicated to technology innovation and integration as well as pilot line manufacturing of lightweight, compact, rugged and low-power flexible display information systems.
