Commission on the Status of Women
Creating and maintain a culturally rich and diverse environment is an educational imperative at ASU, as it is at universities across the nation. Diversity enhances and enriches the intellectual climate, and it supports the implementation of many of our design principles, including embracing our cultural, socioeconomic and physical setting; social embeddedness; and global engagement.
The Fulton Diversity Committee oversees the assessment of the school's diversity programs and the creation and management of new initiatives. You will find additional information about previous surveys and response plans in the links under the History heading in the right-hand column.
We have strong programs in place to recruit and retain women and members of underrepresented groups. These programs include Women in Applied Sciences and Engineering (WISE) and the Minority Engineering Program (MEP).
There are a number of student organizations on campus that complement our efforts to build and maintain a diverse student community. These organizations include: the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES); the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE); the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE); and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
